Press Release

Ctrl Alt Approved as a Synchronization Operator in Bank of England’s Synchronization Lab

London, UK – February 10, 2026 – Ctrl Alt, a leading tokenization provider for digital capital markets, today announced it has been approved to participate in the Bank of England’s Synchronization Lab program as a Synchronization Operator (SO). The program is part of the Bank’s wider initiative to strengthen the UK’s monetary and financial stability through the synchronization capabilities of the renewed RTGS service, RT2. Ctrl Alt will demonstrate the integration of distributed ledger technology (DLT) with existing market infrastructure, with the aim of helping digitize UK capital markets.

As an SO, Ctrl Alt will help create an open ecosystem designed to support the issuance, trading, and settlement of digital assets. The firm will develop a synchronization and orchestration layer to enable interoperability across multiple digital securities depositories, blockchain protocols, and traditional financial systems. This layer will support atomic Delivery versus Payment (DvP) between digital securities on external ledgers and cash in RT2. By collaborating with other Lab participants, Ctrl Alt aims to ensure the system is resilient, flexible, and responsive to evolving market needs.

The Synchronization Lab provides a controlled environment to test and validate design options for synchronization between RT2 and SOs. The program also allows participants to explore new use cases, demonstrate the benefits of synchronization, and support ecosystem readiness for the settlement of tokenized assets.

Matt Ong, CEO & Founder of Ctrl Alt, said:

“We are excited to join the Bank of England’s Synchronization Lab. The program represents an important step in the integration of digital assets into existing financial markets. Ctrl Alt has built its infrastructure to be interoperable with traditional systems, and this opportunity allows us to demonstrate how tokenized assets can interact with RT2 and other market infrastructure in a secure and efficient way.
By collaborating with other SOs in the Lab, we aim to contribute to a system that benefits from real market experience and feedback, ensuring it is both robust and adaptable as the UK’s capital markets continue to evolve.”

The announcement follows Ctrl Alt’s admission into the Bank of England’s Digital Securities Sandbox (DSS), which facilitates innovation in the issuance, trading and settlement of securities in the UK.
